Double Feature: MHFA & YMHFA for School Staff

Mental Health First Aid® Maryland is a public education national certification course designed to teach individuals, professionals, businesses, and community members the skills necessary to respond with care and genuine support to an individual experiencing a mental health or substance use concern or crisis.

This two day training series will cover both curricula:

  • Aug 15th – Mental Health First Aid for adults supporting adults
  • Aug 16th – Youth Mental Health First Aid for adults supporting youth

This training is eligible for 1 continuing professional development credit (CPD) through the Maryland State Department of Education and satisfies Lauryn’s Law requirements. This training costs $150 to attend.

Participants will be asked to complete a pre-survey before the class begins, and a post-survey and 10-question exam at the end of each day. Successful completion of both days will result in receiving two nationally recognized certifications. Y/MHFA certification lasts for 3-years.

This training will take place at the Mental Health Association of Maryland in Lutherville, MD from 9 am – 5 pm both days. Attendees will have 30 minutes for lunch and will be highly encouraged to bring that on the day of training. There will be a refrigerator available, along with a hot water kettle and snacks. Due to the printing and purchasing of items for this training, refunds will not be issued after August 11th, 2023.
