Paying for Care

Your insurance company can provide you with a list of mental health professionals within your healthcare network. If you do not have insurance, contact your local Behavioral Health Authority/Core Service Agency for assistance. Visit Network of Care to review a comprehensive list of mental health services by county. The Mental Health Association of Maryland can also help you find mental health care—simply call 443-901-1550 or email us at info@mhamd.org for more information.

In Maryland, most health insurance plans cover some mental health treatment. Call your insurance provider before beginning treatment to find out which clinicians accept your insurance and what services are covered. If you have questions about Mental Health Parity or your mental health care coverage, please visit MHAMD’s Maryland Parity Project page or call 443-901-1550, ext. 206.
