Engage with® Older Adults Core Skills Part 1
The Engage with® Older Adults Skills Training Program is designed to help anyone who regularly interacts with older adults—whether you’re a caregiver, healthcare worker, first responder, librarian, or customer service professional. This training gives you the tools to build deeper, more meaningful connections by teaching respectful communication, de-escalation strategies, and ways to better understand older adults, including those experiencing cognitive challenges like dementia.
Social workers completing both Parts of the Core Skills: What Everyone Needs to Know course will earn 3.75 continuing education credits (CEUs).
Core Skills Certification:
The two-part, 4-hour Core Skills Certification program provides critical training to improve your interactions with older adults—helping you reduce resistance to care, strengthen relationships, and enhance daily interactions.
Each part is being offered separately. Participants can choose to take Part 1 or Part 2 individually based on their availability and needs. However, to receive the Core Skills Certification certificate, both parts must be completed.
Upon completing both sessions, you’ll also gain access to our Demonstrating Respect game and a Reference Guide to reinforce what you’ve learned.
