Resiliency Road Trip: Mental Health First Aid from Pregnancy to Postpartum

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based, internationally recognized training that equips participants to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.

Our Resiliency Road Trip offers the standard MHFA curriculum, adapted for those who serve and support individuals during the perinatal period – pregnant and parenting people, their families, birth workers, healthcare providers, and community members are all welcome to attend!

This interactive training includes specialized scenarios, guided discussions, and perinatal-specific resource sharing to ground the learning in real-world relevance. Upon completion of the full course, participants will receive the nationally recognized Mental Health First Aid certificate and a comprehensive MHFA manual.

Our road trip will take us to three locations across Maryland for an in-person, cost covered, full day of programming: Caroline County, Alleghany County, and Baltimore County.

  • Caroline County: Monday, August 11th, 9am-5pm, Wharves of Choptank J.O.K Walsh Visitor & Heritage Center, Denton, MD
  • Alleghany County: Monday, August 18th, 9am-5pm: Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD
  • Baltimore County: Wednesday, September 10th, 9am-5pm, MHAMD Offices, Lutherville, MD

This is a training that requires:

  • The completion of a pre-evaluation, post-evaluation, and 10-question exam.
  • Full attendance of 8-hour instructor led session.

All participants will receive an electronic Mental Health First Aid manual and Mental Health First Aid Certification for 3 years upon completion of course requirements.

MHFA is not pre-approved for CEUs, though we are happy to provide documents for you to submit independently, and certificates of attendance as requested.

A light breakfast and a catered lunch will be provided.

Registration closes on:

  • Monday, August 4th for Caroline County
  • Monday, August 11th for Alleghany County
  • Wednesday, September 3rd for Baltimore County

Join us for a session to enhance your ability to support and nurture the wellbeing of perinatal members of your community.
