The Maryland Coalition on Mental Health and Aging (the "Coalition") was established in 1994 and was soon adopted as a program of the Mental Health Association of Maryland, a non-profit citizens’ organization concerned with all aspects of mental health and mental illness. The Coalition was established with the recognition that older adult mental health needs were unique and often overlooked.
The Maryland Coalition on Mental Health and Aging provides a forum for aging, mental health, consumer, family and professional associations and government agencies to work together to address concerns and improve the situation for older adults with mental health needs.
